Wine travel is about so much more than what’s in the glass—it’s about slowing down, connecting, and experiencing a destination through its flavors, landscapes, and people. Whether you’re planning your next girls’ getaway, milestone birthday/anniversary, or a luxury escape, these destinations deliver unforgettable tasting experiences.
Of course I have to start with my home territory-what can I say I am very loyal and the wine industry is struggling.(The wine industry is going through a bit of a shift right now, as changing lifestyles, wellness trends, and evolving tastes are influencing how and what people choose to drink.)
But in case you are looking for a relaxing destination featuring fabulous wines may I suggest:
Napa & Sonoma, California
Napa Valley With more than 450 wineries and global recognition it’s a destination known for bold Cabernet Sauvignon, elevated tasting experiences, spa treatments and luxury resorts.
Sonoma County offers a more relaxed, approachable vibe. Think diverse varietals, charming towns, and a slower pace—perfect for those who want incredible wine without the formality.
Bordeaux, France
Bordeaux is one of the most prestigious wine regions in the world, home to thousands of wineries and iconic château estates. This is where wine tasting feels like stepping into history—grand architecture, centuries-old traditions, and perfectly structured reds. And has been on my bucket list for years.
Tuscany, Italy
Tuscany is known for it's rolling hills, cypress-lined roads, sun-soaked vineyards and the friendliness of the locals. Chianti's and Brunello's, Tuscany blends incredible wine with food, culture, and scenery. It’s as much about the long lunches and village strolls as it is about the tastings. This is one of my absolute favorite destinations.
Lesser-Known Gem's:
Slovenia If you’re looking for something unique and conversation-worthy. Often overshadowed by its neighbors, Slovenia has a winemaking history dating back centuries and is gaining recognition for its diverse wines—including its famous orange wines.
And right now, Mexico’s Valle de Guadalupe is having a moment—offering incredible wines, amazing food, and a relaxed, design-forward vibe just a short trip from the U.S.
