There comes a point when the best gift you can give your friends isn't another dinner out—it's a shared adventure.

Whether you're celebrating a milestone birthday (perhaps turning 50? 60? 70? or?), planning a reunion, or simply deciding it's finally time to take that trip you've been talking about for years, there are incredible destinations that are made for laughter, long conversations, great wine, and unforgettable memories.

Float Above New Mexico

If you've ever dreamed of floating over hundreds of colorful hot air balloons at sunrise, this is the trip-this has been on my bucket list for several years-the beauty of all of the hot air balloons!

Every October, Albuquerque hosts the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, usually held during the first full week of October.

Chase the Fall Colors

Nothing says "girls' getaway" like cozy sweaters, wine tasting, scenic drives, and crisp autumn air, of course each year dates will vary.

Vermont: Peak color is typically late September through early October. Think covered bridges, maple syrup stops, charming inns, and quaint villages.

Blue Ridge Parkway (North Carolina & Virginia): Usually peaks during mid to late October. Spend your days exploring mountain towns, local wineries, and scenic overlooks.

Leavenworth, Washington: Late September through mid-October offers beautiful foliage with a Bavarian twist. Great restaurants, wine tasting, and mountain scenery make this an easy favorite.

Watch the Giant Waves in Portugal

For something completely different, head to Nazaré, Portugal. I am a little early for the waves but looking forward to visiting in Nazaré in September on my next girls trip.

Between October and March, enormous Atlantic swells create some of the biggest surfable waves in the world, waves that can exceed 80 feet is unforgettable.

Pair it with Lisbon, Porto, wine tasting in the Douro Valley, and plenty of seafood for a fantastic European girls' trip. See future posts from my trip to Portugal.

Tulip Season in the Netherlands

Every spring, the Dutch countryside comes alive with millions of blooming tulips. Tulips are one my favorite flowers-can't wait to experience this!

The best time to visit is late March through early May, with mid-April usually offering peak blooms.

Rent bikes, wander colorful gardens, cruise Amsterdam's canals, and spend afternoons in charming cafés.

Christmas Markets in Europe

Grab your girlfriends and a warm coat.

From late November through December, cities like Vienna, Prague, Munich, and Strasbourg transform into magical winter villages filled with lights, handmade gifts, mulled wine, and holiday treats. This is one of my favorite Holiday travel treats-I love Christmas Markets!

A Spa Weekend in Scottsdale

Need relaxation more than sightseeing?

Scottsdale offers sunshine nearly year-round, luxury spas, fantastic restaurants, shopping, desert hikes, and plenty of pool time.

Sometimes the best itinerary is no itinerary at all. Yes, yes and yes-this is one of my favorite girlfriend time weekends.

And this is one of my favorite places to stay: The Phoenician
