Many women 50+ are redefining their lives by following their passions, whether through career changes, entrepreneurship, or philanthropy. After years of experience, responsibilities, and perhaps putting others first, this stage of life often presents the perfect opportunity to focus on what truly brings us joy. Choosing to follow a passion isn’t just about making a living—it’s about creating a life that feels meaningful and energizing.

These can be the best years of our lives.

I became a travel agent at the ripe age of 57. I have a passion for luxury travel and wanted to make a career of it way beyond my 50's. Is it easy? Of course not. There is a lot to learn about the travel industry; destinations I have never traveled to, tour companies, building my client list the list goes on. But I love it.

Follow your passion and you will love it too.

Here is a list of some of the ideas of women that have followed their passion too.

Becoming a consultant or coach

Launching a nonprofit

Tour guide and/or docent

Turning a hobby into a business (E.g., Cooking, Photography, or Handmade Goods)

Writing a book or starting a blog

Pictured are my friends and Marin & Sonoma Women at Work (my networking group for women in business) members. Women that have followed their passion-they started non-profits, wrote books, started blogs and followed their dreams.
