Spend Your Money Where it Matters-Marriott Part 3

Here’s where I think travelers sometimes get caught up. A lower-priced hotel doesn’t automatically mean a bad hotel. Sometimes it means you’re being smart about where you spend your money.

On my recent LA trip, I stayed at a Courtyard by Marriott. It was clean, comfortable, conveniently located and affordable — exactly what I needed. Why didn't I book something more luxurious? Because I was barely going to be there!

It was a work trip, I was spending my days out and about, and I basically needed a comfortable bed, a shower and a convenient location. I wasn't going to use the pool, gym or other amenities, so why pay for them?

Marriott’s Select brands include:

• Courtyard by Marriott

• Fairfield by Marriott

• Four Points by Sheraton

• SpringHill Suites

• AC Hotels

• Aloft

• Moxy

• Protea Hotels

And then there are Marriott’s Longer Stay brands, such as Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites and Element, which can make much more sense when you need a kitchen, more space or a home-away-from-home feel. Perfect for families.

So my advice?

Spend your hotel dollars where they matter to YOU.

Sometimes that means the Ritz.

Sometimes it means the Courtyard.

And sometimes the best hotel is the one with the fabulous location, the perfect little balcony or the pool you plan to spend every afternoon sitting beside. 😉

There really isn't one “best” Marriott. There’s just the best Marriott for your trip. And be sure to become a Marriott Bonvoy member, its free and comes with Marriott perks.
