You don't always need a Ritz-Carlton, but you might want a little more than just four walls and a bed.
That’s where Marriott’s Premium brands come in.
These hotels generally offer more amenities, restaurants, lounges, pools and services than the more basic options — making them a great choice when you want the hotel to feel like part of the trip without necessarily going full-on luxury.
Premium Marriott brands include:
• Marriott Hotels• Sheraton• Westin• Renaissance Hotels• Le Méridien• Delta Hotels• Autograph Collection• Tribute Portfolio• Gaylord Hotels (Pictured-Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center. Features Florida themed atriums and onsite water park.)
And I especially like Autograph Collection and Tribute Portfolio when I’m looking for something with personality. The individual hotels can feel much more unique than a traditional chain hotel. Sometimes I park my car, relax, unwind, dine and never leave the property until its time to go home.
This is also where working with a travel advisor can be helpful. I’m not just looking at the price or the Marriott name. I’m looking at what you actually want from the hotel.
Are you looking for a great location? A beautiful pool? A fabulous restaurant? A romantic getaway? A place where you can relax between sightseeing?
The “best” hotel really depends on the trip.
Next up: my LA strategy — and why sometimes less really is more.
